Lionel the guide was excellent. The vineyards were well chosen and we got to taste many varieties of wines. The appetizers were very well chosen also. It is a long day and it was quite hot but well worth it.
Super Fun Wine Tour

The wine tour was amazing! You’re in the south of France so obviously the wine is amazing, lunch was tasty, and the scenery was very pretty. What made our trip though was our guide Lionel was super personable and within minutes of meeting our group was chatting and becoming friends and we ended up all laughing and joking all day. We even went out for drinks with our group after the wine tour because we had so much fun!!!

Friendly driver. Uncomfortable European sprinter van; each row of three was packed. Hard if you’re a broad or tall American.
1.5 hours each way from Nice… bear this in mind.
It was a good way to spend a day, but the wineries were so-so… I had only heard of one of them, and that one didn’t ship - so bummed we couldn’t send any bottles home. The other wineries were mediocre.
Our guide was enthusiastic but might have lost the crowd at points. It was clear we had total newbies on the tour who were enthusiastic but didn’t know how to approach a tasting, and it was a shame to see the guide didn’t completely pick up on it. Very little technical explanation of how to taste wine, guidance on what we were drinking. Lots of storytelling and context given, but lacked focus / precision and was a bit all over the place.
I expected a bit more education / hand holding from the guide to make sense of it. By the end of the tour I wasn’t really making distinct sense of the different wines, which is a shame.
I’ve done wine tours in Sancerre and Chianti that were much more effective.
Suggested lunch location was OK but guide left group on our own to sit together / order together / split bill. Odd dynamic if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.

We're sorry that the wineries you visited with our guide seemed just interesting. I don't know what to think of your remark when we're talking about estates that, in some cases, have 2000 years of history and tradition, have experienced and passionate winemakers and, above all, that are keen to open their estates to share all this. In the end, it's up to each individual to formulate his or her own opinion. But we're talking about things that exist and are beyond entertainment. It's strange to rate a historical domain with a So-So! (I'm sorry to give my opinion, but these wineries you're talking about, I love them deeply, passionately :))) Just as our guides are keen to share their passion. Not everyone's level is the same, and our guides adapt to everyone's level. What's more, we explain the different styles of wine tasted during the day (3 colors, a dozen different wines), so that everyone can experience them for themselves. All in all, we do everything we can to make this tour a great experience, and we're sorry you missed out. We will take your comments into consideration in order to make our tours even better.
