Satisfactory

Gill_W, Dec 2024

The guy gave information about the platter of 9 cheeses along with 3 glasses of wine, one red, one white and one sweet. Would have liked a written sheet on the wine and cheeses that we got. Also, the wine was in short supply in relation to the cheeses. Felt we could have had another glass each. Not good value for money.

Bonjour Gill_W

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

We would have preferred if it had better met your expectations.

We offer one glass of wine for three cheeses, three times, which amounts to a substantial volume of wine for 1.5 hours.

We will certainly pass on your suggestion for a write-up to our partner; however, please note that this is not a masterclass but rather more of an exchange with the host.

We sincerely hope to regain your confidence during a next experience with us.

Best regards

Fabulous trip even for ‘tea-totaler’s!’

SineadK148, Dec 2024

I had a wonderful afternoon visiting the wine groves of St Émilion with Ophorus tours.

Our guide Alice was extremely attentive and informative. Our van we travelled in was both clean & modern. It was a small intimate group which I personally loved.

I do not drink so I was hesitant of doing the trip but I really enjoyed it as I learnt about how the winery works and how people live in this beautiful region of France.

It was an absolutely fabulous day (weather wise) and after the tour of the wine works and house we were brought to the local medieval village of saint-Émilion itself and that was just magical. It really was a trip that I will not forget!

Thank you Alice!!

Wonderful Experience

Lorraine_S, Dec 2024

Absolutely recommend doing this wine & cheese experience. The host is knowledgeable and spoke English well, and was very able to convey knowledge of the Bordeaux wine making as well as their cheeses. It is less about "pair this wine with this cheese," and more about learning best practices and what to look for in pairings, which to me helps apply it in the future. Also, they were very adamant that while this experience is about showing you some best practices for pairings, ultimately you can pair whatever wine with whatever cheese you like as long as you like it. The restaurant we went to was a cheese restaurant with over 100 cheeses too; I wish we knew earlier in our trip so we could book a meal there as well!

Very Poor Wine Tasting Activity

chrismanning, Dec 2024

These are the smallest wine tastings that we have had, three wines and mediocre at best

Cheese was good but should be as it was at a cheese restaurant

Not worth the money

Disappointed we did it

Met a nice coupe from the US but apart from that it was a poor activity

Somewhat impersonal but did the job

NykkieG, Dec 2024

I decided to do this activity at the start of a month in France, as a way to learn about some new cheeses that I could then look out for. I did taste several that I hadn’t tried before, and the wine pairing was good, so it met my objective. The service/host was ok - it definitely felt like something he did every day and just a job. No introductions between the group or personal connection. Overall it was ok but I would suggest other options would bebetter value for money and more enjoyable

Dear Nykkie,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We appreciate your honest review and are glad to hear that you were able to taste several new cheeses and enjoyed the wine pairing.

We're sorry to hear that you felt the service/host lacked a personal touch and that there weren't introductions between the group. We value your input, and we'll certainly take this into consideration for future improvements to enhance the overall experience.

Best,

Kevin from Ophorus
