Grasse
Grasse, France, is one of the French Riviera’s most sought after destinations. Never heard of it? Arguably, that's because it's one of the French Riviera's best-kept secrets. Tucked into the Prealpes d'Azur Regional National Park's foothills, just under an hour's drive north of Cannes, Grasse is a little town with a lot to offer.
Grasse's history is rooted in the perfume industry and has created sweet-smelling potions since the late 16th-century. Today there are over 30 perfumeries in the region, with some offering guided tours of the factories. Fragonard, Galimard, and Molinard are the town's most historic perfumers that open their doors to the public. Expect to enjoy a behind the scenes look at the process of making perfume!
This charming little town is also home to its fair share of museums, distilleries, and Romanesque architecture. In fact, the area is quite well known for its natural landscape as the surrounding area is home to rolling lavender fields, verdant forest, and impressive gorges. Make sure you pack your walking shoes and swimsuit!
