Théoule-sur-Mer
Théoule Sur Mer is a popular beach holiday destination, and a small commune tucked into the Bay of Cannes at the base of the Esterel Mountains. Since medieval times, Théoule Sur Mer has been used as a fishing port and a safe anchorage. Today the harbor is just as busy, but fishing boats and supply vessels have been replaced with glistening yachts and luxury motorboats.
When you're not admiring boats in the harbor, shopping at the weekly market, or visiting the 5th-century watch-tower that overlooks the coast, you'll likely be making the most of Théoule Sur Mer's soft sand beaches and secluded bays.
The waters here are a sparkling turquoise color and are calm enough for swimming and snorkeling. Alternatively, the verdant landscape that lies behind the commune is home to an array of hiking trails suitable for all abilities. The circuit walk of the L'Aiguille headline is one of the most popular routes and takes roughly one-hour.
From the quiet shores of Théoule Sur Mer, head north along the coastal road, and you'll find yourself in Cannes in under 30-minutes.
